Dear colleagues & friends of recovered Carbon Black,
please join me for a very special interview with François Terrade , which I recorded in the summer of 2024 on location in Léon, France. Even after 2 years, François' recommendations and visions are 100% spot on. It is almost like he could predict the future.
François was introduced to my by our joint friend Jean-Paul BOUYSSET (whose interview is also on the Carbon Black & rCB Youtube channel). François has been my inspiration and my close consulting colleague on everything recovered Carbon Black.
He was also part of the discussion panel in my epic recovered Carbon Black workshop at the Smithers Tire & Rubber Conferences Carbon Black World 2018, which laid the foundation for the rCB Conference Series and the rCB community.

François started his career at Cofrablack in Ambès (France). He says he is a "Carbon Black Process Man" and he has worked his entire career on optimising energy use during furnace carbon black manufacture.
In 2011, François founded his own consultancy company. In his first project he implemented pelletisation at cct AG in Germany (later Pyrolyx AG, now part of Circtec Group).
In this video interview, François talks about carbon black and recovered Carbon Black collaboration, about why the ASTM D36 Committee was a mistake and about creativity in process engineering. He takes us on a deep dive into pelletising carbons and lays the foundations for a surprisingly simple but efficient ecosystem for the joint production of carbon black and recovered Carbon Black.
