Dear colleagues & friends of recovered carbon black,

Here is your monthly dose of recovered carbon black news. We now have 5.825 subscribers to the rCB News. Thank you for your interest!

I am just coming back from a small birthday retreat at the Baltic Sea, hence the lighthouse picture above. I realised that lighthouses are pretty much like consultants and advisors: They give much needed guidance to stay on track and to avoid risks!

Feedback on my last Newsletter - rCB industry fragility

The rCB industry fragility topic resonated with you all. I got many positive messages about the topic, especially from the small technology start-ups. And I am continuing my contribution to bridging the gaps between start-ups and big corporations, working on both sides with small and big companies.

EURIC "Tyre recycling: making the wheel go round"

The tire recycling day at Recycling Europe in Brussels was a very well organised event with a top participant list and many good presentations and discussions.

When an activist presented during the panel for turf infill from end-of-life-tires ("ELTS"), the discussion heated up. It turned out that the activist accusations had no competent nor scientific background. For me, this situation showed again that better communication to consumers about tire recycling on social media is needed.

I am taking this challenge by documenting tire recycling with my video cameras and publishing on Linkedin and Youtube. Contact me for collaborations!

My own presentation was scheduled to be 5 mins only and my Powerpoint slides were not shown as the sequence of presenters was re-arranged for me to catch my ICE train back to Germany. I think I made my point in well under 30 seconds. Watch it here on Youtube:

PS: I will soon cut a summary of those presenters at EURIC who allowed me to post their presentations. Watch out for a summary video in the next weeks!

Linkedin Live stream with Cabot

On April 20th, I did a live stream with  Aatif Misbah , VP & GM Sustainable Solutions about the company's new Evolve™ Sustainable Solutions Platform, which I believe is the most wholistic sustainable carbon blacks platform, with circular and renewable carbon blacks and reclaimed carbons.

You can watch the full interview here:

Of course, other carbon black companies are active in this space too, for example Birla Carbon with the Continua™ brand of sustainable carbonaceous materials, Orion S.A. with the Ecorax™ Nature and Circular products and Tokai Carbon CB with circular carbon blacks. I hope I can interview these and others soon!

recovered Carbon Black Conference (Nov 7th/8th, Barcelona)

Smithers has confirmed  Amanda Crabbe  for the production of the conference agenda. Amanda is an rCB conference pro. She has produced 2 of the 4 agendas for previous conferences and knows the rCB industry very well.

Do you have something new and innovative to present? The call for papers is open and you can still submit your abstract.

In addition we will announce this year's online workshop next week. We will have a new event format and also a new topic! Stay tuned!

Wolfersdorff Consulting Webinars

I ran two live webinars in April, one about "recovered Carbon Black in Rubber" and one about "Tire pyrolysis Technology Selection". If you could not participate, you can now rent recordings of these webinars on-demand in my webshop.

Future recoverd carbon black equipment Youtube videos

In May, June and July, I will film, edit and post Youtube videos about recovered carbon black production, refining and analysis equipment. Contact me if you are interested in a brand collaboration!

Thanks for reading this far & best wishes from Berlin,

Martin
